Miss Kristen Pallas is currently the Director of Bands at El Diamante High School in Visalia, California, where she oversees the Wind Ensemble, Symphonic Band, Jazz Band, Winter Guard and Indoor Percussion ensembles, and the Marching Miners. She was appointed to this position in 2016, and since then her groups have continued to earn top ratings at CMEA festivals and the Marching Miners were selected as finalists at WBA Championships in 2017 and 2019. Prior to her appointment at El Diamante, Kristen was the Director of Bands and Choirs at Ceres High School, near Modesto, California.
Miss Pallas is a 2009 alumna of Fresno State, where she performed in a variety of ensembles in venues throughout California, most notably the Walt Disney Concert Hall with the Fresno State Wind Orchestra under the baton of Dr. Gary P. Gilroy. A firm believer in serving music education, Kristen has served multiple organizations in different capacities over the course of her career so far, including as manager of the Fresno County Youth Choir, Treasurer of the Central Valley Guard and Percussion Circuit, and Vice President of the South Valley Winter Arts Association. In February of 2016, she was elected to the Secretary position of the California Band Directors Association after serving as a band manager and head chaperone to the All-State ensembles and Assistant to the Ensemble Host for nearly a decade.
In the Summer of 2017, Miss Pallas graduated with her Master’s Degree in Band Conducting from the American Band College of Sam Houston State University. She resides in Visalia, California with her golden retriever, Lucy.
