Super Saturday Registration Form
Pre-registration deadline has been extended to 5:00 PM on Friday, Sept 8!
The CBDA Board is proud to introduce CBDA All-State Super Saturday, to be held on Saturday, September 9, 2023 at various locations throughout the state! All-State Super Saturday will be held in partnership with SCSBOA.
What is CBDA All-State Super Saturday?
CBDA All-State Super Saturday is an opportunity for students to get a masterclass on their instrument from a professional on their instrument in preparation for CBDA tryouts. Tips and tricks on All-State material, as well as small group work sessions for students with instructor feedback, are offered. This is designed for ANY student in your program. While All-State auditions are part of the day, the masterclass is good for students at all levels.
When is it?
Saturday, September 9th. There will be two three-hour sessions: one for junior high students and one for high school students. Times will vary a little by location, but plan on a 9:00AM-12:00PM for high school students and 1:00PM-4:00PM for junior high students.
Who is teaching?
Some of the finest studio teachers and college instructors in the state! We’re pulling from the pros: college, private, and on-site instructors, many of which actively participate in the process of preparing and listing to auditions.
Where is it?
We are working with several campuses across the state in an attempt to provide greater access to our students. The current locations are listed below; check back as we continue to finalize locations.
Northern CA: Will C. Wood HS, Vacaville
Bay Area CA: Diablo Valley College, Pleasant Hill
Central CA: Fresno City College, Fresno
Southern CA: Woodbridge HS, Irvine
What instruments?
All instruments that we audition are available with the exception of harp and piano. (
How much does it cost?
The cost is $25 per student for three hours of quality instruction and feedback. Directors are invited to observe for free, and this includes non-members. While there is no meal service (it’s a three-hour clinic) some sites will offer concessions, and many are close to local restaurants. Students will be able to sign up online, but we will take walk-ups, as well (cash only, please).
We hope to see you on Saturday, September 9th! Please visit our registration page to pre-register and reserve your spot.
